Over the past week, I’ve written 2 posts about reading your Bible.
Were they alive when their son was imprisoned, then beheaded?Should we stop asking for children because they bring pain into our lives? This story and others remind us that we live in a broken world in which we depend on one another for encouragement when the waiting is long or when children don’t turn out the way we had hoped. They give you topics to focus on and help you understand what the scripture is saying. It’s all about connecting to other people and God in a meaningful way. This is a brand new book by the writers of Incourage. They are great for giving you something to focus and teaching you about God. I have been reading Caroline Harries’ blog for quite a while now and she is a wonderful writer. Whenever you see light hitting a beautiful jewel it’s hard to imagine that there could be anything better. This woman’s devotional is unlike the rest because it gives you one devotional a week for an entire year. This women’s devotional deals with rejection and loneliness. This women’s devotional reflects on all that we have to be thankful for.
This book isn’t really a devotional and it isn’t really aimed at women, but it is crazy powerful and so I wanted to include it in this list.So the ship kept going, and the young man did his duty. After his tour was over, the soldier married his sweetheart back home.Today, I’m sharing 10 of the best women’s devotional books that I have ever read, or look forward to reading this year.Devotional books shouldn’t take place of reading your Bible but are more like guidebooks. One son wed a doctor, and together they have been active in cross-cultural mission efforts; the other son became a pastor and Bible teacher.
